The wind turbine, as seen in Comic 2.
The wind turbine is shown from Comic 2 to Comic 5. In a habitat that seems to have a generally 19th century feel to it, the early 21st century wind turbine looks out of place. It appears to be an electricity generator of the type that can produce about 2 MW of power on sufficiently windy days. It is in the middle of a forest (an unusual place for a wind turbine) and beside a rutted dirt track.
In the earliest comics, Alice is repairing the generator in the wind turbine when she is distracted by Jack.
